Welcome to Cirali
Welcome to one of the last small
villages by the Turkish Mediterranean Sea, far away from mass tourism, yet
offering every modern comfort. Only 80 km away from the city of Antalya, you
will find peace and calmness. Relax and enjoy the natural beauty. But if you
like, you can also participate in various activities around the year.

Cirali is a village of 1500
inhabitants. Located amidst lovely orange, lemon and pomegranate trees there
are many nice little pensions and hotels. The wonderful bay has a 4 km sand
and pebble beach. The water is Caribbean warm azure blue and crystal clear.
The beach surrounded by impressive
tree-covered Taurus Mountains displaying the peak of 2366m high Tahtali Dag
offers marvellous scenery for your holiday.
In 2003 this beach was chosen by
the University of Glamorgan (Wales) best golden sandy beach worldwide. Here
you find an unique mixture of protected unspoilt landscape, long open beach,
ancient places and clear blue water.
The beach has often been used as
scenery for well-known movies like “Odysseus”.
Caretta
Caretta
The beach of Cirali is one of the last nesting-places of the Caretta Caretta
Turtle. You can experience in May and June
when the sea turtles lay down their eggs
in the sand of the beach of Cirali.

are controlled and protected by a group from the village. In
August/September the small turtles little by little slip then, early risers
come with that into the pleasure to observe the small
animals on the way from the beach
to the sea and to observe the sunrise simultaneously.
Olympos
The ancient town of
Olympos, one of the six main ancient Lycian cities, is in easy walking
distance. You walk along a wonderful river passing pine, laurel and oleander
trees and discover the remains of 2000 year old buildings.

The grave of Eudemos, who did trading tours up to the black sea 2000 years
ago, is very impressive. You can see the entrance portal of a temple, which
is in very good condition, as well as the ruins of several Basilicas and a
bishop`s palace. The cemetery is the biggest of all Lycian cities including
sarcophagi and graves with sliding doors still in very good condition. A big
spring has its source in the middle of the town, which carries water all
year round.

Olympos. Bookings under:

Chimaere
Go by “Fire-Express” to the famous Chimaere, in Greek mythology described as
a fire-spitting monster with the body of a goat, the head of a lion and the
tail of a snake.
“Chimaere” – in Turkish called
“Yanartas” – is a holy place. In ancient times there was the temple of
Hephaistos, God of the blacksmiths. Later a Christian monastery was added.

The burning stones of Cirali
Below the flames you can see the
ruins of the Basilica. Look carefully for the paintings on the walls, some
details can be made out quite well. While you walk uphill to the fire, you
can partly recognize the ancient street.
